do ppl here stilll make music and things? I've taken a long break from it due to software annoyances and not making games but recently thought I might have another go with tracker software (maybe for a game soundtrack) does anyone use trackers?

Don't know what a tracker is, but I have been making music. Mostly for game stuff. Creepy carnival music and that kinda stuff.
Anybody else do anything music ish lately?

is that for college or a personal project?
trackers are the sort of thing .midi files are made in, as well as other exotic files like .mod and .xm . Used a lot by chiptune people and in video games for their tiny file size.

Yeah, it was for a project. I was the music/ sound/ 3d animation guy. Pretty proud of the music, but... My group had some issues and we ended up scrapping all of my animations and going first person at the last minute which was extremely frustrating. The game did NOT end up what I wanted, but ehhhh. I might post the tunes idk

that's kind of uncool and sounds like a bad idea from a dev standpoint. Did you end up with a finished game?

Yeah it was finished. But the first of the 3 levels was unbeatable and extremely barren. We visioned this cool Banjo Kazooie like collectathon platformer, and ended up with a linear 1st person mess. The 2nd and 3rd stages had pretty good texturing and design, luckily, but that didn't stop my grade from being lowered from an A to a B+ in the course... The omitting of my animation was a real low blow and moral opposite of booster.

That's a shame but I guess it's not the easiest thing to organise a group of people and put out something in a short span of time.
