All 7 levels are now finished! I've also finished programming the last of the enemies(there are now 8 total). All of the GameJolt API integration should be working properly now as well.
My only fear about the game right now is that it might be a bit too difficult for the average player. The game is difficult because you only get 5 lives(although you do get an extra one once you reach level 3 and also level 6), and if you lose all your lives, you have to start over from level 1.
I hope to run a beta-test period for the game where I can have some of you guys play the game and give your suggestions and critique before I do a public release.
The game currently has 2 temporary music tracks that I got off of newgrounds. I'm probably going to need to replace those.

i havent been posting much updates here because most of the stuff im working on is in-game super secret stuff
Anyway... game could be completed very soon... if I find a really fast composer... or one who has some very suitable tracks already. I'm going to try and get it ready for release as soon as I can.
I no longer have concerns about game difficulty... its not too hard of a game once you get the hang of it... The challenge will probably be in speedrunning and getting most gold runs... especially in the last level... that's where it will be hardest for gold collectors.

hey nik, what I'm looking for in the music category is something retro sounding with a touch of modernism on it too I actually did find a track that is similar to what I'm looking for: jmickle.bandcamp.com/album/probability-zero-remixedof course I will be giving a beta test version of the game to whoever is composing so they can get a real feel for the game

I decided to take the bull by the horns, I compiled a gameplay video of Plasma Fist and posted it on the TIG Forums in trying to find a composer. I got a lot of responses so hopefully the composer I chose will be able to do a good job, we'll see.

animations are good, players animations especially feels good and suits game I think.
the overcharge feels a little too shaky and powerul for being a regular attack? might just be me (it might just be the game freeze which isn't necessary). on the other hand, the primary shot feels and looks perfect.
the numbers when you get coins are satisfying, and works well how they just disappear without fading I think
also I wasn't that sure about the blood sticking to background- I don't know if it suits the game. Maybe more cartoony flashing blood would be better?
The gameplay is fun and quick though, great game I reckon

the charged blast is not a regular attack, though... it uses up twice as much of your power bar as the small blast does. Also, you are correct, the game freeze is probably a bit too long (it sleeps for 1/5 a second)... I changed it to 1/20 a second and it does feel much better.
I'm not sure what you mean by cartoony flashing blood... I think (if you mean moving particles of blood) there is a little bit of that... but it goes away after a second or two. However, enemies only give off blood when they take damage... this is why the Pinkertons don't make blood when they're hit by a small blast, because they're not really being hurt, just stunned. I think I can see why the blood sticking to the background would seem unsuitable... because there isn't much of that sort of thing in games like lode runner or pacman... or even the original spelunky... but I think of this game as a slightly modernized mix of those old games... however, if more testers agree with you there, I'll try to think of something else to replace it with.

really liked playing this orange! the animations are very satisfying, love the torches and the vomiting guy and the super blast attack thing, how your guy falls over.. yummy! the blood splats on the wall seemed a bit off to me too, not sure why, maybe because the color is darker than the normal blood balls, its supposed to be a darker red though because its more on the background hmm, but i think the red blood-balls-effect is really cool and good on its own. the power fist feels so good because the effects are cool and you dont have the possibility to use it all the time so you dont get bored of the fall-over effect it still makes me happy everytime i use it. I think you placed the pickups well, good level design the red guy with the blaster scared me the first time i encountered one! AI is cool too, sometimes it feels they're really chasing the player (or are they?) enjoyed the musics, it fits ! got to level 4 or something I think the difficulty is perfect, tutorial worked nicely too, it was quite short, clear and did the job need to get a better highscore !!!!!!!

i think the blood (on the background) shows a kind of brutality which isn't suggested by other elements in the game, making it feel a bit out of place. otherwise I agree that the cherry pop blood probably would work fine on it's own
yeah I agree the AI is really cool how it chases you, also I think I mentioned earlier that I really like the variation in enemies and their abilities.
