The ProjectSo I'm currently developing a game for Jack King-Spooner's Beeswing bundle. I scrapped the original game for the bundle that I had spent hours on - The Man Who Lived Forever. I lost all motivation for that and creating it was a bore. The project is untitled, but think of it as a point and click puzzler set in a dystopian/cyberpunk future on a corrupt commercial planet, filled with thieves and greedy businessmen. You either live big and rule the planet, or rot in the lower levels. You control a character known as 'The Trader'. He was a trader before he arrived on Tercon Major. He came to the planet seeking profit and business, but was immediately flicked aside and robbed of everything. He has no way back home and must survive in the lower levels everyday, where you have to steal to survive. It's a harsh environment but he manages to pull it off luckily. The game starts as he awakens from behind a hostel and he begins another day in this scum filled city. I have a bit of story written out but it's very patchy. I need to come up with an actual ending (I'd like it to have some sort of twist). But for now, I'll post my development with the game below.

Setting - Tercon Major
An awful planet to be on. Filled with thieves, murderers and corrupt individuals. In the golden days of galactic commerce, Tercon Major was advertised as a commercial paradise; a utopia, you could say. It was prosperous to begin with, but slowly, the wrong kind of people started to turn up. Eventually, money took over. If you didn't have the cash, you'd be thrown to the lower levels to live life as a beggar. The communities of these levels started to grow and eventually, became an infection. Slowly, the planet became corrupt and you either lived big and ruled over the sector, or you rotted at the foundations of the megascrapers.
The game initially takes place in Quadrant 3, Sector 6.

The Characters
The Trader
Once a vendor of goods, now a taker of goods. A mysterious individual who seeks to survive on the dreadful Tercon Major. He has good intentions and dreams of the day that he will see his family again, if they are alive.
The Veteran
A miserable fellow, but full of stories. Always found at Quad 3's bar; he has a good relationship with the owner. He tells tales of how he used to be the finest Barrikodon rider in the great galactic war, but he lost his leg and was forced to retire.
The Hunter
No one knows what lies under the helmet, or if that even is a helmet. All that they know is that he's one bounty hunter that is not to be messed with. He has ties with Tercon's government and considers Quadrant 3 his property when it comes to bounties. Do not get on his bad side.
The Pioneer
No one knows where it came from, and no one knows what it is. The first of it's species to travel beyond their planetary cluster and into the galactic sectors. It's broken it's ship and quickly trying to find a way to repair it so it can get out of here quickly. But the thought of being lost on a new planet seems to be put on hold, as it seems to be worried about something a lot bigger.
The Barkeeper
A quiet individual who runs Quadrant 3's bar. He may seem like an innocent fellow, but underneath those goggles lies a lust for blood. It'll load its shotgun and blast your brains out faster than you can make it out of the bar without paying. The Merchant
A careless fool who by sells goods near the west side of the streets. Scavenging for anything that could possibly be bought. He doesn't have a clue what anything does though. He's a newcomer to Tercon Major, and a greedy one too that one day dreams of running a Sector. People are betting on the streets how long he has left before he's mugged. The Brute A big, hulking mass of anger. He'll kill anyone he sees if they're worth it. He doesn't speak any language, he just communicates with a series of roars. The louder the roar, the angrier he is.The Mercenary
She’s a force not to be reckoned with. There’s a reason she’s one of the only females around here nowadays - she knows how to take care of herself. But don’t think she will be forgiving. She’s been in many battles and killed many things, so do not mess around with her. The Deadshot and the Gibber tag along with her.
The Deadshot It will will never miss a shot. It always carries its rotary action beam revolver, and is not afraid of pointing it at anyone. It tags along with the Gibber and the Mercenary.
The Gibber
A very annoying alien with a big mouth. He won’t stop talking absolute rubbish, and will try to insult anyone when there’s a chance. As much as you want to see him rot in cyberhell, he’s very quick with a knife. He hangs around with the Mercenary and the Deadshot. The Automation
No one knows when this model was built or how she ended up here. From the looks of things she looks like a basic receptionist bot from the early times of Tercon. She seems to be operational… just. Her translation circuits are out of date and her parts are broken, but she still speaks.

The first design for 'The Trader', the character you will control in this game. I wanted to go for a person who had experienced the worst of the planet and knew the tips and tricks to survive. I think he will be the only human in the game.

Implementing 'The Trader' into my skeleton system, as well as his in-game sprite design. I think this will be his final look. I'm thinking that his goggles could be purple and glow instead of a solid black glass.

Yeah it does. I was thinking and if he had two bad legs it would go better with his story, and also I don't have to code in a separate script for his bad leg when he changes direction so its on the right side.
